Dr. Shazia Maqsood Amjad
Ms. Shazia Maqsood Amjad is currently the
Executive Director of the Pakistan Centre for Philanthropy (PCP). PCP is an NGO
dedicated to the mission of enhancing the volume and effectiveness of
philanthropy for social sector development. She is an educationist and
development specialist; she has worked with a variety of organizations which
include, The Government of Pakistan, DFID (Department for International
development), The British Council, UNICEF, and GIZ. Her years of work in the
Government of Pakistan have helped her develop an overview of the complexity
and dynamics of the national policy making and aid allocation processes in
Pakistan.
Previously she headed the Technical unit formed by GIZ at NAVTTC to
support the Government of Pakistan in implementing skill development reform.
Ms. Amjad advised Government counterparts at a strategic level to provide
vision and direction to the skill development sector in Pakistan. Previously
Ms. Amjad served as a Team Leader/Chief of Party for DFID/Pakistan’s task force
on education. Her work included development of strategy; design, operation, and
programming of activities to improve access and quality of the schooling sector
in Pakistan. Her core strengths are undertaking advocacy and creating strategic
partnerships and alliances. Ms. Amjad earned her post-graduate degree at
Harvard Graduate School of Education and then taught for more than eight years
at post graduate level.
