Ten Billion Tree Tsunami

Civil Society Coalition for Climate Change (CSCCC) and other civil society actors attended the “Ten Billion Tree Tsunami” a tree plantation event organized by Ambassador Paul W. Jones at the US Embassy on 13 November 2019. The honorable Minister for Climate Change Malik Amin Aslam planted a Moringa tree to mark the event.
The U.S. Embassy compound is home to a wide variety of flora, including 1,033 trees, selected for their sustainability and suitability in Pakistan’s climate.
When building the new Embassy compound, 520 trees were saved and 513 new trees and 2,800 new shrubs were planted.
