Mr. Nisar A. Memon has overseen national engagement with water actively since 2003 when as Pakistan Senator was named as Chairman: Parliamentary Committee on Water Resources with the objective of developing a National Irrigation Water Strategy with national consensus. Has been engaged with World Bank supported Abu Dhabi Dialogue Group (ADDG), South Asia Water Initiative (SAWI) and Indus Forum since 2006. 

         In 2014, founded Water Environment Forum (WEF) Pakistan, a not-for profit non-government national organization -  focusing on water environment for energy and food of which he is the Chairman. Currently engaged in Climate Change Challenges, awareness and dialogue programs as well as participating in National Water Strategy. In October 2016, WEF held a national conference in Islamabad on Climate Change Challenges.

     He has been IBM Pakistan Chief Executive and Chairman Board of Directors of Engro Chemicals Pakistan Ltd. He has been Federal Minister of Information & Broadcasting in 1993, 2002 and 2007, acted as spokesman of the government and cabinet. Chaired Senate Standing Committee on Defense & Defense Production and has been member of Senate Finance, Foreign Affairs and Environment Committee.

He has  Master in Science degree and is associated as Member Board of Governors (BOG) of FAST National University of Computer & Emerging Sciences, Islamabad since 1997 and member BOG US-Pakistan Center for Advanced Studies in Water at Mehran University of Engineering & Technology, Jamshoro, Sindh since 2016.
