Dr. Seeme Mallick
Dr. Seeme Mallick has a vast amount of
experience in economics, agriculture and environmental research. She has
nominated for the position member core group of experts on climate change,
subcommittee on Finance, Ministry of Environment, and Government of Pakistan.
Dr.Mallick has spent most of her career working in Pakistan teaching at several
universities and doing research focusing on climate change and the environment.
Early in her career, she spent time working abroad in California (1991) where
she assisted in research on patterns of commodity trade between the United
States, Canada, the European community, USSR, and China. She taught at different universities such as
Quaid-i-Azam University, University of Arid Agriculture and International Islamic
University in Islamabad. She worked on a UN joint programme where she was part
of a team that prepared the National Climate Change Policy and drafted the
action plans and strategies for climate change.
Dr. Seeme Mallick did several design
research projects on climate change and natural resource management for South
Asia. She got her MSc in Economics from Quaid-i-Azam University in
Islamabad and MS in Agricultural Economics from the University of California.
Then she went to Australia where she got her Ph.D. in Environmental Economics
from Macquarie University, NSW, Australia.
